Downtown Development Authority

Meetings are held the 3rd Tuesday of each month at 8:15 am at Marlette City Hall Council Chambers. 

The Marlette DDA was created in 1991 by the Marlette City Council in accordance with P.A. 197 of 1975, updated in 2012, and updated according to Public Act 57 of 2018. The purpose is to prevent and correct the deterioration in the business district; to promote economic growth and revitalization; to encourage historic preservation; and to authorize the levy and use of tax increment financing in the accomplishment of specific downtown development activities contained in locally adopted development plans. 

The DDA is run by a board of Directors, appointed by the Mayor for terms of 1, 2 or 4 years.
