Mission

The primary goal of the Police Department is protection of life and property, prevention of crime, and apprehension of criminal perpetrators. The department strives to provide the best possible police service to residents of Marlette and to those who work, travel, and shop here.

Duties & Responsibilities

The department now has an authorized strength of 5 full time officers that provide a wide range of protection and enforcement services. For non-emergencies calls when you cannot reach our local office dial Central Dispatch at 800-881-5911. To register a complaint, or to ask for general police-related information, dial 989-635-2008.

Curfew

Curfew for minors under the age of 16 is between the hours of 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. unless accompanied by a parent or guardian. Minors under the age of 18 have a curfew of midnight to 6 a.m. unless accompanied by an adult.

Blight Violations

Blight violations continue to be enforced on a regular basis. If a residence is in violation, the owner will have 5 days from the violation date to rectify the situation. Failure to rectify the situation shall result in further enforcement action. Let's take pride in our community and keep it clean.

Burn Ban

The Police Department would also like to remind citizens that local ordinance prohibits the burning of leaves. It is also against city ordinance to place leaves into the street. Violators will be cited.
