Carpenter Street Extension Open to Traffic

The City of Marlette is pleased to announce that the Carpenter Street extension is now open to traffic.  The project connected the east and west sides of Carpenter Street, which were previously separated by a ditch.  Concrete headwalls and a culvert were placed in the ditch.  This work resulted in a road base that opens Carpenter Street to traffic flow from Lamotte Street to Lorraine Street, providing a second means of ingress and egress to Lorraine Street. The new road base is made of asphalt millings. Eventually the entire stretch will be paved, subject to availability of funds in the City’s road budget. The project was completed by Marlette Excavating of Marlette.
